Due to the greater range, the Gripper is placed/parked sideways. The system can be placed on both sides as well as lifting/depositing containers on both sides. The system can be used as a semi-automatic system where the driver steps out of the cab and operates the SWL via radio remote control. This means that it only needs to dock onto the container from the parking position, the lift system does the rest and automatically returns to the parking position. The SWL 105-9 can also be used in fully automatic operation: here the driver does not need to leave the cabin and controls everything via the monitors and joystick.
